Green and healthy, Southeast Asian-styled hotspot. Sticky Rice Restaurant was an interior design at a popular mall in Pudong, Shanghai. The client wanted to incorporate the idea of nature, green, and the outdoors, so we added bits of this inspiration into the architecture and furniture. Glass block tiles were used at the facade to let in as much natural light as possible, and full width folded sliding doors were used to eliminate any need for exterior walls — a gesture to invite the outdoors in. As for furniture, the main dining table, which ran the length of the dining room, was custom designed with built-in wheatgrass planters. Project area: 105sqm (including outdoor seating area). 2015.
