Common Hive Workhive is a licensed design-build company based in Durham, NC. We’re a team of interior architects and contractors that can take your dream project from drawing board to built space. Remodeling homes is what we do — from whole house to single rooms. We also specialize in working with boutique eateries and small offices — that includes your ideal home office or live/work space.
At Workhive, we listen to and understand your individual needs — how you live, how you play, how you relax, how you work — and then deliver solutions that are customized, tasteful, and cost efficient. We’re about honoring the practice of good building, and ultimately creating spaces that provide you a sense of place, function, comfort, and personality. Who We Are
We’re RISD graduates with Master’s Degrees in Interior Architecture. As designers, we create unfussy spaces that emphasize thoughtful details, good craftsmanship, and tasteful solutions. We have strong backgrounds in fine carpentry and woodworking, and a license to practice general contracting in the Carolinas and Tennessee. We’re also avid film buffs, opinionated music listeners, and generally pleasant introverts.
